Putting those on the margins of society at the apex of urban masterplanning, Holbeck, Leeds is of national importance due to being the only official managed zone for sex workers. That zone overlaps with a conservation zone rich with numerous iconic post industrial buildings.
The 84 page book looks to pyschogeographers as inspiration and forms the core methodology for gaining analysis which is then applied for reinterpretation of the city’s values. Walks are marked out, numbered, recorded, journaled and repeated to absorb the streets past present and envisioned future. These walks draw parallels with previous political, cultural and historical walks of the past that echo past psychogeographic political statements.
