Weaving together Geoffrey Jellicoe’s 1930’s vision of well being for the miners at Calverton, into this 2020 addition. A cemetery on the leafy borders of site punctuated by a transitional monumental signpost that marks the lives list during its operational years.

The sculpture measuring the same size of the shaft headgear that took the miners underground. This illuminated twice a day to mark the change of shift 19 shafts of light remain on for the duration on the would be journey to the coal face.

The lights symbolise the vision of well being have strong religious reflections whilst coinciding with modern days rush hours.
