Accessible via the national rail network and often maligned&nbsp;End of LinE seeks a sonic understanding through an ever expanding collection of sound explorations that in turn archive a turbulent period of time where a sense of belonging are notions most of us ask of ourselves and of our surroundings. Essentially End of LinE is a long form project that brings Landscape Architecture, Radio Transmissions and Narrative Environments somewhere close. A place where research, cultural geography and the politics of analysis merge, overlapping time periods whilst questioning the validity and heavily weighted practice of surveys with sonic mapping. The idea that roles can be switched between host and guest,, local visitor, native non-native, amateur professional. Staying as long as possible in site analysis building something and nothing until patterns emerge and another End of LinE is reached. Princess Essex had already reached acclaim this workshop was about sonically layering the story in Southend. By opening up recording equipment to those unfamiliar and playing with the idea of survey and representation loose themes that occur in Princess Essex. This was made possible by the Focal Point Gallery originally featuring as part of In Other Worlds and later S is for Southend. In Charles Pears’ Bathing Buoy (1934) These rebellious swimmers are sounding the alarm. Listen uP! Is a play on a warning system taken from the End of the Pier, the world’s longest.. End of! The burnt out contents might reflect the missed warnings of the past fires, crashing boats and burst blood vesseled faces. They may well not take such a figurative visual element in the future survived in Punch &amp; Judy as a canine creature. Scaramouche deserves closer inspection so eloquently outlined in Bohemian Rhapsody. The character was created from the son of the creator of Punchinello later to be anglicized to Punch,&nbsp; these two characters would be long friends ‘as thick as thieves’ that is until Punch gets drunk and too violent for Scaramouche. The importance of Scaramouche in relation to his ability to be the beating stick of punch’s violence and suffer in silence, he is for the most part a silent character.
